(Sept. 1, 2022. Carmichael, CA) “If an unborn baby is capable of forewarning its mother during even the first trimester, why are we still leaving abortion open as an option?” Donna Schwontkowski, author of the new book The Womb Diaries. All Mommy-Baby Communication Starts Here said.
After analyzing 25 womb diaries of women from around the world, she found eight cases where moms stated that their unborn baby forewarned them of trouble or potential trouble.
One example was when a Filipino mother was in a hurry and just about to head down the stairs. Her baby gave her a super strong kick that caused her to stop, pause, and look down the stairs. There were puddles of water on the stairs that could have caused her to fall and possibly end up miscarrying her baby.

Another example was when a U.S. mom unfortunately got into a big argument with her brother who had been living in her home. He became so angry that he got right in her face and yelled at her, escalating his anger to an even greater level. She was ready to start yelling back at him when her baby kicked her super hard in her stomach and made her calm down instantly. In fact, it changed her whole demeanor as she became grateful for the baby’s kick and felt relief of the stress she was feeling about the situation.
A third example is when a first trimester mother in Romania decided to climb a cherry tree to pick some cherries. After being up in the tree for a while, it was time to get down. She had been in the tree many times in the past and had simply jumped down from it but this time was different. Now she was overtaken by a sudden overwhelming fear of causing a miscarriage. She didn’t know she was pregnant for sure at the time.
“It was common that women had dreams that warned them also that something negative could happen or was scheduled to happen,” Schwontkowski said. “For example, one mother was forewarned of a miscarriage with a dream of her baby crying and saying goodbye. The miscarriage occurred in week 14.”
“Babies often seem to be concerned about their mothers when they are depressed. In one case, the mother was considering suicide. She had decided that she would starve herself and not drink any water and not talk about how she felt to her partner. Her baby gave her strong impressions to go seek help, and she did. Only then was she able to get through the depression. She felt like it was her baby who had been sending her those impressions.”
“Just as babies have forewarned their mothers, they have also reassured moms. In one instance, the mother was told by the ultrasound technician that her baby may have heart problems. When the mom brought up the topic with her baby, he assured her everything was okay and he did not have heart problems. At the next ultrasound examination, the baby was found to have a sound heart.”
Having a baby is a monumental event in a woman’s life, yet what we may learn from these mothers is that their unborn babies are there to help the moms through difficult times, prevent accidents from happening, and be a source of inspiration and reassurance,” Schwontkowski said.
